The Duo of Marina and Vadim is a professional music and dance duet which represents Romany (Gypsy) performing arts, including Flamenco from Spain, Gypsy Jazz from France, Eastern European and Russian-Gypsy music and dance. They perform all over the U.S., as well as overseas at concerts, festivals, and private events. Vadim’s repertoire also includes Pop, jazz, classical, Latin and other World music. Vadim Kolpakov is one of the most prominent and renowned Russian Roma (Gypsy) 7-string guitarists in the world. He was a lead musician of the Moscow Roma (Gypsy) Theatre Romen, where he performed as a guitarist, composer, vocalist, dancer and dramatic actor. To this day, his original guitar compositions are performed in many prominent plays at the theatre as part of the vibrant oral tradition of the Russian Roma culture. Hailing from Saratov, Russia, Vadim graduated from the Roma performing arts school Gilori and studied guitar with his uncle Alexander Kolpakov, the virtuoso Russian 7-string guitarist who served as the musical director of the Romen Gypsy Theatre for over a quarter of a century. At the age of 15, Vadim began work at the Romen Gypsy Theatre, where he worked for 8 years and was the leading guitarist for 7 years.

In 2008, Vadim Kolpakov as a member of the Kolpakov Trio, went on the world tour "Sticky & Sweet" with Madonna. They performed in many European and South American countries, as well as in North America and Mexico, including venues such as Wembley stadium in London, Madison Square Garden in NYC and Maracana stadium in Rio de Janeiro.

  Rumbao Latin Dance Company

Rumbao Latin Dance Company represents the vision of five Charlotte Latin dancers to provide a fusion of fun and technique for Salsa Dancing. Rumbao combines two key aspects of salsa dance to provide the best performance and instruction possible. Our emphasis is on Rumba and the Tumbao.
Tumbao is the percussive beat in salsa music that On2 dancing follows. Rumba implies a party aspect where people get together and have fun. Together the words make “Rumbao”.  We believe, no matter the rhythm that life plays for you, always take time to find the beat of the Tumbao and get your rumba on!

Rumbao was formed in March 2013 by a group of five talented and dedicated individuals who are passionate about Latin dance and who are always striving to new heights. Each dancer enjoys creative freedom and brings unique talents to the group following an On2 New York Style. Rumbao has been able to present beautiful choreographies full of sabor (flavor) and has quickly made a mark in Charlotte and surrounding cities. In addition to being passionate Salseros, Rumbao dancers are also proud Charlotteans and are committed to the continued growth of salsa
in their hometown.

Hot New party trend! “La Hora Loca”

La Hora Loca, Spanish for “The Crazy Hour” It’s an hour-long show where performers wear flashy outfits, resembling those from Peru's carnivals, including people on stilts passing around glowing lights, party hats, balloons and masks encouraging guests to dance. The show is heavy on Latin and American music using maracas and colorful party-favors making it all part of the party. Add an extra “Kick” to your wedding, quinceañera party or special event!
